The centerpiece of this program is an ongoing incentive program to encourage students to walk/bike to/from school. Examples of an ongoing incentive program are: Red Shoe competition, monthly prize giveaways like a scooter raffle.
The Santa Clara County Public Health Department, which runs the local Safe Routes to School program for area schools, provides funding and a lot of good information and support. West Valley’s PTA provides funding as well.
