Corporate Match FAQ

We recommend parents ask their HR department for the most up-to-date information about their company’s corporate match policies. Below are some frequently asked questions.

What is corporate matching?
Many companies match employee contributions to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. This can instantly double or even triple the money you donate to the organization. A partial list of known companies that match is included here: Companies that Corporate Match

When should I apply for corporate matching?
Please apply whenever a contribution is made to support the school (e.g. Fun Run, Direct Donation). Some companies distribute funds right away, while others process them on a quarterly or semi-annual basis. There may also be a cap within a calendar year. Verify with your HR/Benefits department whether there are strict guidelines for applying for corporate matching.

What is the process for corporate matching?
Each company has a different process for employer match. Please ask your HR/Benefits department.

In general, the steps to process corporate matching are:
  1. Check to see if your company participates.
  2. Many companies use a third-party provider such as Benevity, BrightFunds, EasyMatch, and YourCause. You may be required to make your contribution through the designated website. Be sure to have your company’s unique URL in order to log in.
  3. Search for West Valley Parent Teacher Organization (WVPTO) in the organization listing. If WVPTO is not listed, our organization will need to be added. Information is listed below to assist with this process.
  4. If your company requires hardcopy paperwork to be turned in, please complete the paperwork and return by mail to WVPTO at the address listed below.
  5. Let us know a contribution was made by completing a donor form or sending us a copy of your receipt.

My company offers corporate match but WVPTO is not listed. What should I do?
