PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Running Club takes place during the second half of the school year, 2-3 times per week during lunchtime. Students can run as many laps as they like. Each lap receives a lap card punch. One lap card is 5 miles. Every 5 miles (up to 25) students receive a ribbon. After 25 miles, awards are given at 10 mile increments. |
LEADER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Coordinate volunteers. Communicate with staff to set up assemblies and award distribution. 1 or 2 Leads.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
3-4 lap card punchers per day. 1 volunteer to update the tracking spreadsheet. 1 or 2 volunteers to handle awards.
Lap card punchers don’t require any special skills. Enjoy being outside, getting to see children playing and interacting on the playground without the responsibilities of yard duty. Bonus - get some fresh air and exercise as well!
Spreadsheet and award jobs can be done at home -great for working parents who can’t come during the day but want to support an awesome program.
